This Week
The theme for this week is questioning, and is part of an ITaP theme.
The trainees will be introduced to the questioning cycle that can be found on p18 of the PDJ. The cycle considers the questions trainees need to think about when planning questions and when observing others ask them.
Day 1 (21 Oct.)
PDA 5a: Beginning teachers observe their class teachers to consider the questions asked during the lesson in relation to the questioning cycle on p13 of the PDJ. At the end of the day, trainees are encouraged to discuss some of these questions with their class teacher, to understand the reasoning behind them.
PDA 5b: Beginning Teachers repeat the exercise but watching each other working with a group of children. The work is that planned by the class teacher, but the beginning trainees need to think about, and plan informally, the questions they will ask and when they will be asked.
Day 2 (22 Oct.)
PDA 5c & 5d: Beginning teachers repeat the activities similar, if not the same, to those of 5a and 5b.
Day 3 (23 Oct.)
PDA 5e: Beginning teachers repeat the activities similar of 5b and 5d, working with groups of children to improve their questioning skills.
