Lesson Evaluations

It is important that beginning teachers complete evaluations of the lessons they have planned and taught by completing the three boxes at the end of the lesson plan template:

Lesson evaluations are important for assessing the progress children made in the lesson and the elements of the beginning teacher’s practice that enabled this.

In identifying particular children, when answering the questions in the second box, beginning teachers should use the children’s initials.

To save time, beginning teachers should not go back and complete previous lesson evaluations. Instead, they must ensure that all future evaluations are complete.

Mentor Development

This months mentor development activity (Activity 3) is now available on the mentor development tasks page. We understand that mentors may not have the time to fully engage with this activity at present, but we do ask that, from this week onwards, discussions about the teaching moments in the weekly review follow the F-A-S-T framework.
